How would people feel about gating all of the echo's in AmigaNet into
a newsgroup hiarchey called amiganet.*?
It's just an idea but it would definately stimulate conversation and bring more Amiga users/fans into the mix.
As some of you might already know, I run a big free nntp server for the bbs
community. I could easily propose an amiganet.* hiarchy and take care of all the
admin functions for it like issuing all the control messages and the needed
checkgroup messages.
It's just an idea and i'd like to hear other people's thoughts.

Do we really need the spam that would come into the network?

The nice thing about controling a small hiarchy is the ability to
filter out pretty much all of the spam.

OK.
If you think you'd be able to keep up with the spam....
I intend to post below message on a weekly basis to the FidoNet
OTHERNETS area. Does anyone have anything to correct or add to the
text?
Hi,
AmigaNet is a global FTN (Fidonet Technology Network) System of interlinked nodes, BBS's, and points around the world, supporting the AMIGA computer platform. You don't have to own and use an AMIGA to
support the platform!

I found a totally outdated AMYAPP.LHA package from 1996, when I was contemplating the message for OTHERNETS...
